1/35 Trumpeter LAV-25 USMC

This is the Trumpeter LAV 25 Piranha built OOB with the exception of Eduard photoetch for the turret basket, intake screens and the exhaust screens.  The build was fairly simple and the camouflage pattern was painted with Tamiya paints and airbrushed freehand.  Definitely my best freehand camouflage paintjob.  I lightly weathered with oils but so light that it doesn't show up well in the photos.  I used the pinwash technique and it works very well.

The photoetch details I added definitely enhances the overall build and I didn't use all the photoetch in the Eduard set.  There are photoetch tie downs for tools but I didn't want to go into too much work on this, my first armor build in 20 years.

The last two pictures are an LAV 25 that was being transported on Interstate 81 Northbound just outside of Hazelton, PA.  It was photographed on the way home from the IPMS Nationals, Aug 2008; my wife snapped the two photos while I drove.
